Ubud Market

Ubud Market

Pre-dawn produce. Mid-morning treasures. Two markets in one.

Just a 15-minute stroll from Kano Sari is the Ubud Traditional Art Market — actually two markets in one. Before dawn, from around 4am, it operates as a lively local market where residents shop for fresh produce, flowers, offerings, kitchenware, and daily essentials. It’s fast-paced, good-humoured, and wonderfully authentic, offering an unforgettable glimpse into everyday Balinese life.

By mid-morning, the market gradually transforms into a colourful hub for visitors, filled with textiles, baskets, clothing, artwork, and endless treasures to browse. It’s fun, vibrant, and a great place to test your bargaining skills.

You’ll also find a number of charming laneways around town lined with small shops offering a diverse range of handmade goods and curios. Be prepared to haggle — kindly and with good humour — as most sellers see it as part of the experience and a bit of friendly sport!
