Temples & Palaces

Royal courts, lotus-filled temples, and centuries of living history at your doorstep.

Ubud is a treasure trove of cultural landmarks, from ancient temples and majestic royal palaces to world-class museums — several of them within walking distance of Kano Sari.

The Ubud Royal Palace sits at the junction of Jalan Raya Ubud and Monkey Forest Road, directly opposite the traditional art market. Although the local royal family still lives here, visitors are welcome to stroll the grounds and admire the ornate architecture.

Just 150 metres further along Jalan Raya Ubud is Pura Taman Saraswati, a temple dedicated to Saraswati — the Balinese Goddess of knowledge, literature, and art. Set within a serene water garden brimming with lotus blossoms, it is one of Ubud’s most photogenic and spiritually significant sites.

Nearby, Museum Puri Lukisan showcases an exceptional collection of Balinese art and hosts rotating exhibitions throughout the year. While you’re exploring the neighbourhood, it’s well worth stopping by Casa Luna for a delicious coffee or a leisurely lunch.

Kano Sari Insider

Pura Taman Saraswati is magical at dusk when the lotus flowers close and the temple lights up. Combine it with a dance performance at the Royal Palace next door.
